Oh, she is here!!!!!!!!! Yes, that beloved lady is here and her name is Maxine. Super panel with most of her most memorable sayings and a few coordinates to go with it is now in stock here at Quilts n Gifts in Bluffton, Indiana.

Robert Kauffman has created this new fabric and believe me it is funny and so much like her.

I just came back from a quilt show in Chesterfield, Indiana and what a wonderful group of ladies. It was fun and the quilts were exquisite. Now, what did I find? boxes with new fabrics plus Maxine that I will start getting on the shelves today. After all, we are open today until 4:00pm so might as well work.

It is that time of the year were we do our spring/summer contest. Well, this time we are doing purses. We will be accepting purses for our contest starting Monday May 24th until Saturday June 5th, 2010. On Monday June 7th until Saturday June 19th, 2010 the voting begins. Like before, you can enter as many purses as you want and if you want you can let us know which pattern you used in the event that a friend asks us which pattern that is. There is wonderful prizes for the winners of our spring/summer contest.

I know you are all planting gardens but take a few minutes out of the sun and visit your friendly sewing machine and get that purse that was started a little while ago finished and enter it to win a wonderful prize. Like always, purses will be numbered as no name will show in order to vote for the purse that you like a lot and be fair to all of the entries.

Take a few minutes or an hour and do a ROAD TRIP to Quilts n Gifts in Bluffton, Indiana and see all of the new fabrics that are starting to arrive in our store. Take care my friends and like always our store number is 260-565-4438 or cell 260-273-2611 for any questions or concerns. Don't forget the Quilters Den.

Quilters Den at your service now.

Hello my friends, I know you are wondering who is the lady at the left picture, well she is Teresa Fields. Teresa is a pattern designer and her patterns go under the JWD Publishing and she is in the store teaching a class on her latest tote bag the Snap, Grab & Go as I spend some time with you right now.

This is a great pattern with a wonderful detachable vinyl liner, eight pockets, key fob and guess what? it is reversible.
Now, how sweet is that. Yes, I hear your question, we have the pattern in the store as we speak.

Also, in this blog you are going to see pictures of the on going class that Teresa is teaching on our new and exciting Quilters Den.

For those of you that do not know what the den is all about, is our new and exciting room with 11 individual stations just for you to sew, laugh, talk, therapy and in other words our very own hang out place and all of this is for you to choose when you want free of charge. Not the classes though, well most of the classes are at a very low nominal charge.

As you can see, we have one of our friends doing some basting on a bag that she will be working today too.

We have started to place quilts, purses, wall hangings etc. all over the room but there is still room for more and definitely we are working on it.

Now, just received this week, Alex Anderson Masterpiece threads from Superior. The colors are just wonderful. They look like candy with those great colors. Aside from the 600 yards spools we also have 3,000+ cones that are great for piecing and we do not have to change spools because we ran out so often.

If She Sews,,,She Knows....that is the theme of this wonderful fabric for all of us quilters and seamstresses from Michael Miller.
This fabric is fresh from the UPS truck since it arrived today at the store. I think it is totally fantastic.
Well, today we mark the first day of the first update sent via the new system. It is a different format to which I am still learning but I think it will be a great way to communicate with all of you my friends.
We have received a lot of new fabrics and we are getting ready to the Seven Sisters Shop Hop that starts on March 4th thru March 17th.
This is going to be a great hop and a great way to beat that cabin fever that this winter have giving us.
We have added another present to our birthday club and that is if you bring your quilt to be quilted by our long arm service during the month of your birthday, you will receive 15% off as our birthday present from us to you.
Our classes are filling out very fast so don't wait till the last minute to sign up. You don't have a class schedule? call us or sign up for our weekly updates to receive the class schedules and everything else that is going on at Quilts n Gifts in Bluffton, Indiana.
Well my friends hope to see you soon at the shop but in the meantime take care and keep on quilting, mary

Good afternoon my friends, it is a Wednesday afternoon here in Indiana and we have not seen a sunny day in a week or so, BUT, you know what? look at the beautiful number 330.
Yes, Quilts n Gifts here in Bluffton, Indiana has paired up with American Patchwork and Quilting to work together and reach the national goal of one million pillowcases to be donated to the charity of your choice or ours if you do not have one.
Right now we are working with about 4 different charities and as of today we are at 330 pillowcases and counting and every single one has been donated.
Now, as we all know the situation in Haiti is definitely lower than acceptable because of the terrible devastation that those earthquakes has caused. We are on a drive right now to collect as many small non perishable items like toothbrushes, toothpaste liquid soap and pillowcases to send to Haiti. A local church here in Bluffton has families working as missionaries in Haiti as we speak, so far they are ok, and they will be taking/sending a container to Haiti to be distributed. We have only 3 more weeks to collect some of these items and we urge you to join us to help in making a difference.
If you want you can either drop off items here in the store or you can mail them to Quilts n Gifts, 2035 Commerce Dr. Ste. 205, Bluffton, Indiana 46714. You can call us at 260-565-4438 store number or my cell at 260-273-2611. Looking forward to hear or see you soon. Remember only 3 more weeks.
We have finally finished the inventory, what a relief! and with that has come quite a few more fabrics in the store. It is so refreshing to open those boxes and see great new fabrics.
We also have been very busy with Sweet Toni, our Gammill Statler stitcher quilting machine, finishing some very stunning quilts. We are running about 3 weeks and sometimes even less depending on the size of the quilt/wallhanging etc.
Well, it looks like we are getting busy again and with that for me to go back to work. Take care and see you all around the web quilting frame, your friends, mary
